Huge congratulations to Dawn Hawley, NUH Life’s Fertility Administrator extraordinaire, who came runner up in Family Health at NUH’s World Admin Day awards! We’re so proud of Dawn as she is recognised for all her hard work behind the scenes at NUH Life.
The theme this year was “Unsung hero” and Dawn’s nomination read:
Dawn Hawley has been working at NUH Life Fertility Services for two years and she still impresses me every day with her unwavering professionalism, cheerfulness and dedication to her role and our patients. She is an “unsung” hero in that she is the first member of the fertility team that all of our patients encounter – and first impressions matter! But she is also “invisible”, because the work she does is behind-the-scenes and by phone and email.
Dawn manages the administrative processes of around 1,000 patients a year from GP referral, triage, up to their first appointment. The difference she makes is not immediately obvious to the vast majority of those patients, for whom Dawn has smoothed out the journey invisibly behind the scenes. On top of that, Dawn is always bringing ideas and embraces improvement whole-heartedly. Recent changes she has implemented to streamline the patient pathway will save both patients and the service time and money, and improve patient experience.
Courteous, friendly, and funny, but also efficient, detail-focussed, with a can-do attitude, Dawn H brings warmth and light to NUH Life for both patients and colleagues alike.
Well done to Dawn for her award, but also a huge thank you on World Admin Day to our whole admin team – Dawn, Sharon and Will – for all the unsung work you do every day to support us and our patients. We’d be lost without you.
